OMNE: Nursing Leaders of Maine represents nursing leaders from patient to policy. Nursing Leaders of Maine is a professional organization who directs the course for nursing by promoting sound health care policies within our organizations and at the state, local and national level.

Toward this mission the organization creates an environment that encourages networking, unity and collaborative partnerships among all healthcare professionals across Maine.

2015 Emerging Leader Award Recipients Announced


Shown above from left are Donna DeBlois -President OMNE, Andrea Farrar,RN, Kieara Robinson, RN.Andrea Farrar and Kieara Robinson, RNs at Maine Medical Center's NICU/CCN facility in Portland are co-recipients of this year's OMNE 2015 Emerging Leader Award which was presented at the annual meeting on September 24th in Freeport, Maine. Chosen from many nominations, Andrea and Kieara are being recognized for their work developing a comprehensive orientation process that includes an intra-professional collaboration. They serve as mentors, professional role models as well as preceptors. These young women are exemplary in their practice and in their ability to lead by example. OMNE is proud to present them with year's Emerging Leader Award.

Roland Joy, RN is recipient of the 2015 OMNE Nursing Leadership Award

In his role as Chief Nursing Officer at the Aroostook Medical Center Roland Joy, RN, MSN, BSBA provides his staff with a clear vision, clear and challenging expectations, tools, resources, hope and empowerment. Roland leads a culture that does not settle for the status quo. He inspires his nursing staff to never be satisfied. Many of his staff members are pursuing higher degrees. His team is serious about achieving the IOM recommendation of 80% of RNs holding a BSN by 2020.
